Re: Hobbies?
I started a new hobby: I joined the Bel Canto choir of Milwaukee, which attempts some pretty ambitious choral music concerts four times per year. After a few weeks of rehearsal, I received my music folder, and discovered I couldn't really hold it with my left (injured) arm. It's the kind with a blac...

Re: i'm a 22 years old man from egypt with OBI
<t>Hi Mostafa - keep searching and I hope you can be evaluated by a BPI specialist to see what options there are for you. I'm 36, last seen at age 9, and I was surprised to find now that many options are still available to me.<br/> <br/> This might not be relevant, but, just today I briefly saw Dr. ...

Re: Why can't we have IV's in our BPI arm
<t>I have given blood regularly for the past 8 years (type O+, they like to see me) It just doesn't succeed in my injured arm. I have had two bad experiences lately where I had pain in my uninjured arm for a few days afterward, and so I declined this time. I'm sure there are other factors (skill of ...

Re: DR Nath's book
I just saw Dr. Nath's book briefly. So my only impression is: hey, finally we have a book to refer to and it has color pictures! Amazon does sell it, but it is a print-on-demand book and you buy it from vbworm. I've ordered a copy.

Finally saw Dr. Nath to see what can be done
<t>I finally took the step of seeing Dr. Nath (the 10-minute clinic format). I'm 36 and was told in the past that there was not much more to do for my OBPI. But I thought surely a lot has changed in medicine, and my good arm is getting overused, so I will try to get some help.<br/> <br/> Dr. Nath wa...

Re: Conceptualizing a Cyborg
<t>I would not settle for a replacement. Make up for all the years of one-handed typing by requesting FOUR arms. Maybe not able to wield light sabers with dexterity, but from now on the two robot arms can do all the heavy typing. <br/> <br/> I feel self conscious when clients tour the floor and noti...

Re: NOT SURE IF I HAVE BIRTH BPI? HELP.
<t>Leigh, from the symptoms it sounds like you have arrived at the right place. You must have read others' descriptions here with more or less similar combinations of things.<br/> <br/> I had forgotten what to call this until reminded by a family practice doctor a few years ago. Once when I was 18 I...

Re: Tendon Transfer Surgery
<t>Hi DeShawn,<br/> <br/> I had a wrist tendon transfer in Lubbock in 1980. I know what you mean about the summer! I had a plaster elbow cast (two actually) that got really yucky. The third cast was water safe, and while testing that I got black sand inside. Don't get sand inside!<br/> <br/> I think...
