Re: Wheel-barrel walking????
<t>We have also been told that wheelbarrow walking is too strenuous on the all ready unstable joint and not to do it. Crawling is a much better weight bearing exercise in that the child's weight is evenly distributed and does not cause the shoulder to give in. I would think twice about doing this ex...

Re: TES and two year old ???
<t>My understanding is that the TES is used at night because that is when your body produces the hormone for muscle growth. Using it during the day, I think would not have the same effect on the muscle growth. We also use the 6'' electrodes to cover the larger areas down the back and wrap the arm to...

Re: BPPF Pennsylvania Picnic
<t>The picnic was awesome. The kids had so much fun together and many friendships were made that day. Dr. Kozin did evaluations for the kids. The Cirinos and Francine out did themselves this year with a halloween theme, the costume parade and the drums. It was so much fun. We look forward to it ever...

Re: Forearm osteotomy
DeShawn,
Can I ask what was the specific reason for the osteotomy and what other surgeries did Rain have? It sounds like that is the same procedure that was explained to me for Kyle. Thanks.

Re: Forearm osteotomy- Which Docs are doing this
<t>The osteotomy I am talking about is on the lower arm. It is very different than the derotational osteotomy done on the upper arm. My understanding is the osteotomy done on the upper arm requires screws and pins and they are fixed with an external splinting device. The osteotomy done on the lower ...

Re: Forearm osteotomy- Which Docs are doing this
<t>This is not a new protocal. Infact it is a very common surgery usually preformed when a broken arm does not heal right. It can be done by any orthopeadic doctor. We will be seeing an orthopeadic specialist at Children's in D.C. for an opinion, Dr. Wilson. It is just another way to get the arm int...
