ACOG is offering a BPI course online
<r>Now this is something I am glad to see!<br/> <br/> The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists is offering a postgraduate course in November 2006 via webcast. The title is<br/> "Shoulder Dystocia and Brachial Plexus Injuries: Can They be Predicted and Prevented?" <br/> <br/> Was anyon...

Re: Petition to stop BPIs - anyone see this?
Brenda,
I didn't realize this petition was a "work in progress" - I just found it while googling and thought it was something the BPI community would be interested in knowing about. Sorry if I pre-empted any ongoing prevention efforts! I think it's a wonderful idea.

Petition to stop BPIs - anyone see this?
<r>I came across this petition today. It is looking for signatures on a "stop BPIs" petition to the AMA. I had never come across this before, but I thought it was a great idea! Whatever can be done to fight BPIs, I'm all for it (as I know you all are, too).<br/> <br/> If anyone wants to add his/her ...

Re: I need info on how e-stim and constraint therapy works
<t>I have found injurednewborn to be an incredibly well-researched and helpful website. As Francine has said, she's never claimed to be a doctor and always refers people to medical professionals. And not once have I found a reference to e-stim killing children! <br/> <br/> Francine, thank you for al...

Re: New here and have some ?
<t>Krista's right. Early Intervention is the name of a program that offers therapy services to young children. Your local school district's special education office would have the info if you just called and asked about early intervention services.<br/> <br/> Going to a BPI specialist is something c...

Re: Frustration!!!
<t>Michelle,<br/> <br/> These lawyers may be balking because you're so early in the game, and they can't yet see the lasting impact of your daughter's BPI. That's a guess. Keep in mind that the statute of limitations (depending on your state) will give you two years to file. And your child can sue o...

<t>Michelle:<br/> <br/> Congratulations! Yay! I am so happy to hear this. Your persistence and determination paid off.<br/> <br/> I've learned this in the four years since my son Danny was injured, and it kind of describes this constant persistence you HAVE to have. Re: New here and have some ?
<r>I am so very, very sorry to hear your baby was injured. <br/> <br/> Please don't apologize for what you feel! You rattled off every single thought that ALL of us have had at one time or another - was it my fault? (of course not!) - I'm mad at my OB (you should be!) - etc. - my child's perfect but...

Re: Just found this website
I second every word Chloesmom said!
And I'd reiterate ... this injury is never the mother's fault. It's a physical impossibility for it to be the mother's fault!
We all struggle with that false guilt, but it is FALSE guilt. Please don't beat yourself up.
