Re: humeral osteotomy

<t>Morgan is doing great! June 1st we are off all restrictions as we continue with therapy. She is so pleased with the results. We have had no set backs or anything to complain of. She now can even put her hand in her back pocket again and touch her stomach. These were the two main functions we lost...

Re: humeral osteotomy

<t>Morgan had the screws and the plate which will stay in perm. We are still doing lots of PT and everyday we are still seeing great results. Her range now is just amazing and still does not seem possible. I feel really happy about the outcome. Will be interested to see how she is doing a year from ...

Re: humeral osteotomy

What rod? I was not aware that they use a rod for this proceedure. They used a plate & screws on Morgie. Why would they use a rod when they are cutting and rotating the bone?

Re: SSI Denial

What typically would qualify a child for SSI in terms of BPI? I never thought of this, but it makes total sense to me. Good luck!

Re: humeral osteotomy

<t>Morgan went back to therapy again yesterday & all looks great. It amazes me how quickly she is recovering. The hard thing now is keeping her in the sling. Every time I turn around she has it off, and I have to remind her to put it back on as she has been instructed. Also as of yet she has not...

Re: humeral osteotomy

<r>Great News! Morgan got her cast off today & you would never believe the results we have seen already. She has lots of therapy ahead but can already put her hand behind her head with ease, supinate her palm up, & reach to the side. I swear tears filled my eyes as this was the first time I ...

Re: humeral osteotomy

<r>My daughter will be having the humeral osteotomy on Dec 3rd. She is now 13 years old and we have seen many docs and have had many recommendations over the years. This will be her first surgery. We have turned it down two times in the past along with other surgeries, but now she really wants to ha...
