Re: Brachial plexus surgery
Hi Ryleigh, You may or may not receive this since the activity on this forum has gone down, me included. I'm Melanie and have a right OPBI. When I was in HS, I would always hold books or something with my right arm so it just looked like I was carrying something, not a shorter arm. I did surgery wit...

Re: Mod Quad and other corrective surgeries
Hi Becky,
I had the "Mod Quad" and did not have the great results that others had. All five of my nerves are damaged unlike some of the other adults. Do your homework first

My arm is thinner and muscular. I do arm exercise (with the assistance of my left arm), you should try it!

Re: Adult MOD QUAD/secondary surgery???
<r>It sounds like your doing amazing Suzy, that's awesome! I'm glad the surgery worked for you. But at the end of the day, not all of us are blessed with your disability, you have one damaged nerve, some of us have more then that. Amy, get your MRI and EMG and please take your time in making this bi...

Re: Adult MOD QUAD/secondary surgery???
<t>Exactly what Rachel said......everyone is different. I think it just depends on how damaged your nerves are. I had the surgery in March and really haven't seen much difference. I was hoping to be able to lift my arm above my head, hasn't happened. Passively, I'm loose but really haven't gained an...

Re: BOOKED FLIGHTS AT LAST!!!
<r>Glad you can make it! I know flights are quite expensive right now. Just an FYI- The metro is not close to that airport. I live in Washington, DC and know the area quite well. There might be a shuttle service to DC, if not, take a cab to the Vienna Metro(it's the orange line & the closest sto...

Re: AGE LIMIT FOR MOD QUAD
Hello,
I had surgery in March 2005 and I'm 33. Passively, I have gained. Actively, not much yet BUT I haven't used my limb in 33 years so I cannot expect overnight miracles, especially with the servere damage I have.
