Re: Diaphragm issues at age 12?

My son, Jeremy, age 12, had a diaphram plication surgery at 10 months of age. (the phrenic nerve had been injured at birth, along with other nerves). The plication "sews" down the diaphram. Have they ever did one of those "moving" xrays on your childs diaphram area? just a though...

Re: Jeans?!?

Get a button hook. My son used one when he was in grade school. We were able to order some through a Physical Therapists magazine/booklet that sold such things. I forget the name of the publication, sorry. It looked like the handle on one of those foam paint brushes you get at Home Depot, with a rou...

Re: New member with 9 week old

FYI: when looking for an attorney, make sure you get references from other people and actually check them. Also, google the lawyers name. You'd be suprised what you can find out about them. Good luck!!!

Re: New member with 9 week old

<t>My son had surgery at 5 months old to the day. I have been told that after 5 months the outcome may not be as good because of nerve regeneration factors. This surgery was done in 2000. Maybe things have changed since then. My son had C-7 torn (avulsed) from the spinal cord and c5 & c6 damaged...

Re: Kinesiotaping

<t>Wow, I think it's great that kineseotaping is becoming more common! My son's Chiropractor actually introduced it to us back in 2000. It really does make a difference! His PT used to use it on him as well. We have a new PT and so we haven't been using the tape. If your PT or OT doesn't know how to...

Re: A BPI specialist!!!

My son sees Dr. Hanel in Seattle, WA. He studied under Dr. Kozin and Dr. Waters. He says that they are great surgeons. We really like Dr. Hanel, he's an awesome surgeon and doctor. He has done 2 surgeries on my son Jeremy. I think we are fortunate to have access to such great doctors.

Re: malpractice/Law question

<r>I would ask your attorney what is going on. If he/she doesn't reply to you, or dodges your calls, then consider it a RED FLAG! I sent all of my medical records for my son to an attorney,(twice, as he lost the first set!) and he was all gung-ho to help me out, then, he didn't return my calls, and ...

Re: injured diaphragm

<t>Hi, my son also had an injured diaphram. They found it when he was about 9 months old. He developed pneumonia, and when his pediatrician was listening to his lungs, she said that his left lung was not inflating properly, and ordered a special x-ray, called a flouriscopy. (not sure if I spelled th...
