Re: Lower back and leg question

<t>Hey everyone! Oh my gosh! I have had TBPI for 2 years and am having problems with my lower back, neck, hip and knee problems! As a medical professional, I know that the human body is based on symmetry and so do the doctors! If one body part is off even slightly, it affects everything! Someone def...

Re: Pain Medication

<t>Hey guys! I have had Parsonage-Turner for 2 years. I currently take 60mg of cymbalta, which helps alot, I use 2 Lidoderm patches on my shoulder and arm everyday, use my TENS unit every day and take 2-3 lortabs a day which helps take the edge off that pain. Not only is the nerve pain bad, but is t...

Re: Reply here if you are reading this TBPI forum regularly!

<t>Hello everyone! I read this forum regularly. I have a TBPI.I have been injured for 2 years. I had an anterior cervical disc fusion 5-6,6-7 April 13, 2007. One week post surgery, could not raise left arm and was told I have Parsonage-Turner. EMG shows damage to supraspinatus and infraspinatus. I h...

Re: Does anyone get flare-ups?

<t>Thanks Evan, yeah I've tried just about everything myself and can't tolerate it. I've started cymbalta and it seems to help, along with Lidoderm patches and a TENS unit. When these flare-ups hit all I can do is lie down, rock back and forth and wait for it to pass. Oh well, it certainly helps whe...

Does anyone get flare-ups?

<t>Hi all, it's been a while since I posted. But the beast (Parsonage-Turner) rares its ugly head about once a month. While the pain in my affected arm never goes away, which is unusual for PT, I am experiencing very painful flare-ups that most of the time come out of nowhere or I might try to raise...

Re: I have been diagnosed with Parsonage-Turner Syndrome

<t>Thank you for your reply, in some kind of weird way, it helps to know that someone else is going through the same thing. I am just about a year now, have never seen a neurologist and now workman's comp is starting to put the pressure on me. I'm wondering if a brachial plexus MRI would shed some l...

Re: I have been diagnosed with Parsonage-Turner Syndrome

Mr Starmen; Has anyone else on here been cured by mud or some kind of medicine man as you are suggesting? Obviously, you don't have this injury or you would not be posting crap like that!!!

Re: I have been diagnosed with Parsonage-Turner Syndrome

<t>Aurelia, hi. When I say PT throws me in to a frenzy, I mean bed-ridden pain, my upper arm hardens and lumps up along with my pectoral muscle and I have to limit my arm motion, take pain meds etc...I guess there are some compensatory muscles taking over, but my injured nerves really get pissed off...

I have been diagnosed with Parsonage-Turner Syndrome

<t>Hello all; About 1 year ago(Apr 12, 2007), I had an anterior cervical disc fusion of C5-6,6-7. The surgery seemed to go uneventful and I felt great for 1 week until I was awakened by excruciating pain in my upper left arm, mind you, I had pain in my right arm prior to surgery. The incision site i...
