Re: In need of support

<t>I had a LBPI 3 years ago in a car wreck. Only my shoulder works. I've had multiple surgeries with no improvement. I'm scheduled for a muscle transfer in May and will hopefully get something out of it. Sorry to hear about your accident, I am always worried that I will do something to aggravate my ...

Latissimus Transfer + Post - Op

<t>I'm going to have a muscle transfer surgery coming up soon and I was wondering how post-op went for anyone who has had a similar operation. I was told about 4 or 5 days in the hospital, but was wondering about pain and any other issues. <br/> <br/> I'm having this operation over spring break so I...

Re: Please describe your pain (if you have any!)

<t>I don't have much pain at all anymore, which I think is unusual. I'm not on any medications or anything. The only time I have bad pain is a shooting pain. Its hard to describe, but its like something sharp and pulsing travels through the arm. It moves along and at the same time pulsates and burns...

Re: Hard upper arm area

yeah mine is like that too. Its just the muscles tightened up. The best thing to do is Range of Motion exercise. My past few surgeries they had to go in a clip my pec in order to lift my arm above my head.

Re: BPI DOC.

Im a 19 year old TBPI and I've had one surgery at TCH by Dr. Nath, Shenaq assisted on it. I had two by Dr. Nath at Methodist which is close by. I'm now working with Dr. Klebuc and Dr. Shenaq on muscle transfers, and possibly a complete ulnar nerve transfer.

Re: best sling

<t>I have had the same problem for years. I find a sling I like and then it wears out in 2 or 3 months. When I find a good one I buy 3 or 4 at a time. As far as the best type its really what is most comfortable for you. Unless your doctor says otherwise just a regular sling with shoulder strap shoul...

Re: Need help

<t>Princess-<br/> <br/> I forgot to answer some of your questions in that earlier post. The Serul grafts were 7 months post accident, done by Dr. Nath at TCH. I don't remember what they said percentages were for return, but I had no imporovement. I would do all the surgery I've had over again, and i...

Re: UBPN officials, Why the no slander rule?

<t>I think the rule is warranted for more than just legal reasons. Badmouthing a Dr. or institution really does nothing to help the community. Also results of operations can vary a whole lot, and it is hard to objectively determine that Dr. error was involved. I think emotion can be heavily involved...

Re: Need help

<r>Its hard to say really what the best approach to take is. It seems like its all a gamble on the nerves growing. I really wish the seruls had either worked or not been used, because its discouraging when other Doctors use a different tone when thet say , "And BOTH his serul nerves have been taken"...
