Re: Parents--What did you want to hear from your nurse?
<t>Tanya, Just educating them is a wonderful start! Several things running through my head as I read your post: My baby cried and cried...especially if moved. The nurses thought he was being fussy. Looking back now, I am certain he was in dire pain. I wish I had known. Also, he would suck for a few ...

Re: Brachial Plexus Seminar
<t>Cindy, As with you, I too hesitate to respond. I was just suprised to see them listed. 7 years ago we were told by them that nothing could be done for our child and he would just have to adjust and live with it. Unfortunately we then missed out on the prime time to have the primary surgery done. ...

Re: Brachial Plexus Seminar
Cindy, I noticed that the Hershey Med. Center was part of the Consortium. I was wondering what role they are playing in it.

Re: Media Coverage
<t>Something interesting just hit me. I saw on the news that she recently had undergone rotator cuff surgery. Then was in a car accident and had it reinjured. She will be able to understand just a hint of what our kids have to go through. I hope through understanding some of that pain she will help ...

Re: Media Coverage
<r>That is such great news! I will never forget Cherie Bank...several years ago...doing a segmant on "Big Babies." She made it seem like it was no big deal and such. I sent her a letter telling her what a big deal it was if the baby gets stuck and injured. Never heard a reply. To this day I can't st...

Re: Pain and Suffering in the state of Virginia
<t>They have been saying and doing the same things in Pennsylvania and other states. What the drs. forget to mention is that ALL insurance rates are going up! Our car insurance, home insurance, construction workers liability...you name it! It sounds like the drs. in Virginia will be threatening to l...

Re: TES approved by insurance
<t>We bought our TES unit from the tascnetwork for $700. Our therapist went to the conference in Las Vegas during the summer and they announced they had some units they wanted to get rid of since their seperation with Mayatek. However...a friend of mine was going through the process of trying to get...

Re: Medical malpractice/insurance companies
One thing that disturbs me (other than the obvious) is that it influences the general population ie: the jury pool for our trials. It makes the victims out to be the villians.

Re: PA Picnic After Effects & NEW NEWS!
<t>I'm a bit confused about the "new" procedure. I have new in quotes because it is also my understanding that this procedure Dr. Nath is calling new is something they have been doing for years for rotator cuff injuries. It has always been my understanding from Dr. Nath that the reason for the dislo...

Re: School Update: They want her excluded from all recess!
<t>I think Lee Anne hit the nail on the head. You've educated them to the point they are at now. They are looking out for Maia. You've put the fear in them and now they are reacting to that fear. They are in the mode of treating her with kid gloves. Maybe you signing a liability waiver will ease the...
